I have just acquired a new Crayford focuser from focuser.com. It also has the added DC motorized focuser. So far, it is testing very well. Installation was not difficult: the focuser included illustrated instructions for removing the corrector plate and the old focuser. The LXD75 sn-series ‘scopes need an adapter, or a focuser installation kit ($64) which is necessary for an elevated base on which the Crayford focuser can be mounted. The focuser motor is adjustable to give you various speeds. I will be acquiring a 50’ PC speaker cable to lengthen the focuser motor run from the telescope to my desk indoors.

I highly recommend this upgrade.
