We had a few people turn out for the star party. I took my 10″ Newtonian and got some great (but faint) views of M81 & 82 and some galaxies within the tail end of Leo. The views of Saturn and Mars were fantastic in the 4 inch Unitron refracting telescope, especially Saturn. Here are some close-ups of the equipment (these pictures do not do them justice – these scopes are huge). On the 24th, the part is hosting Astronomy Day which includes another star party starting about 8pm. I will be using my CCD camara to get some images of the aformentioned galaxies.
